ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and Speech Therapy

I was pretty effected today by learning that a client was recently diagnosed with ALS. I talk about the options people with ALS have with speech therapy. What I didn't mention is that there are some treatments that prolong life and there are people who live many (happy) years longer than expected.
